Brenda
Guest Relations Manager
If you don't know her by name yet, you will. The only employee capable of combining wit, sarcasm, charm, and encouragement into the same sentence. Maybe this is due to her New York roots, or maybe it's due to her being the longest tenured employee of Porch Light management. Either way, with a huge dose of joy and camaraderie, she will ensure your stay is relaxing, restful, and peaceful.

The small town feel with Main Street happenings
Joe
General Manager
General manager.. high school hero.. musician.. Joe is a man of many hats. Whether he is cooking up strangers on the basketball court or numbers on an excel sheet, he is the man with a plan. He also happened to live in one of the units before it was converted into a BnB and can provide great historical anecdotes on where he and his brother wrestled and played video games (if you're interested - it's okay if you aren't). His impact can most be felt on guests who enjoy their stay without so much as a pillow out of place.

Luke
Operations Manager
A perfect blend of laid back and workaholic, Luke is always willing to roll up his sleeves, hop in the mix, and speak his mind. City boy turned cowboy, entrepreneur and artist, he’s the guy you go to when you need to get things done.

Sydney
Creative Director
Without Sydney, our team would have no idea what the words aesthetic or ambiance mean, much less how to implement them in a boutique hospitality company. Born and raised near Fredericksburg, you can find her 'beep bopping' (yes - this is a technical term) around town making sure each unit's environment is flawless in execution, feel and look.

THE FOUNDERS OF PORCH LIGHT
Dawsie & Michael Meek
Both originating in South Texas and married for 25+ years, Michael and Dawsie have a long history of ministry work in churches and other non-profits. When looking for a place to house friends and family when visiting, they decided to turn their backyard cottage into a small guest room. People loved it, and the idea grew into four additional structures, all inspired by Dawsie’s warm and inviting designs. “We wanted to create spaces that constantly invited you to sit and rest,” says Dawsie, “I want to create this ideal of home, a place people want to return to, something that feels like it’s your very own.”

The Gathering Guesthouses consists of tightly packed, but entirely standalone structures. Austin Four Twelve is a single old home, every unit has its own private entry, but you will share a wall with another guest. Knowing this, we have added a great deal of insulation to the walls and floors to increase your sense of privacy. Cedar Haus at Grün Meadow is a completely standalone guesthouse. Haven and Ololo each offer 4 separate yurts or bungalows on property. The two suites at TownHaus are stand alone.

Quiet is always the goal however each property is characterized by its own unique environment.
Several of our properties are nestled in neighborhoods just a few blocks off of Main Street. While others feel like they are in the country with ample privacy and quiet. Check each individual property for more details!
