Food & Wine Festival

What it is: The Fredericksburg Food & Wine Festival celebrates Texas wines and cuisine. There are wine tastings, food samples, and live entertainment. It’s going to be a fantastic event this year with over 25+ culinary experiences & hands-on culinary demos and 55+ wineries, spirits & breweries.

  • Kid-friendly? It is more of an adult event, but children are allowed in, and there are some open spaces to explore.

 

Pumpkin Patches and Corn Mazes in October

What it is: Several nearby farms, such as Jenschke Orchards and Vogel Orchards, offer pumpkin patches and corn mazes for family fun. Kids can pick pumpkins, go on hayrides, and enjoy other fall-themed activities.

Wildseed Farms

Visit the nation’s largest working wildflower farm in the Fall. The farm has over 200 acres of wildflower fields at its Hill Country headquarters outside of Fredericksburg. View a real working wildflower farm and stay to shop at the Market Center where you can find gifts and home decor and Texas native plants and pottery.

Gillespie County Horse Races

What it is: The Gillespie County Fairgrounds hosts horse races during the fall. It's an exciting event for the whole family, with a chance to watch the races and enjoy food and entertainment.
